Describe Azure storage accounts
What is Azure storage?
Azure storage got different sub services. The main services are:
- Blob storage (Access images on a browser, for example, or store backups)
- File storage ()
- Disk storage (For VMs)
- Messaging storage (Queue storage)
- NoSQL storage (Table storage -> Key value pairs. Cheep)
Hot storage -> Frequently accessed data (Images for website) Cool storage -> Data that is accessed less frequently (at least 30 days, customer invoices for examle) Archive storage -> Data that is accessed rarely (at least 180 days, backups)
Redundancy types
The following redundancy options are available for Azure storage accounts:
- Locally redundant storage (LRS)
- Geo-redundant storage (GRS)
- Read-access geo-redundant storage (RA-GRS)
- Zone-redundant storage (ZRS)
- Geo-zone-redundant storage (GZRS)
- Read-access geo-zone-redundant storage (RA-GZRS)
